My Journey to Holistic Wellness
I came to appreciate naturopathic medicine as a patient dealing with various health challenges. About fifteen years ago, I began experiencing a variety of health concerns, which started with minor irritations and progressively deteriorated into serious health challenges. My search to find relief for these health challenges grew more desperate as the effect of over-the-counter and prescribed medications provided only temporary or minimal relief.
From a chance reading of a magazine article, I tried supplements and herbs that the article recommended. Within weeks, I experienced physical relief and a noticeable change in my health. Real results and the overwhelming variety of options strengthened my fascination and admiration of natural therapies, stimulating an almost euphoric quest and a wonderful sense of discovery.
My exploration of various healing modalities such as meditation, vitamin and herbal supplements and holistic therapies finally led me to naturopathy. In my explorations, I came to realize that my journey to naturopathy began well before I knew it. Arriving at a decision to pursue naturopathic medicine was an unpredictable course that occurred through a search to find purpose and balance in my life. My intrigue with the art of healing and medicine has stayed with me through all this time. I love what I do as I'm always learning something new about the amazing capacity of the human body and spirit!!
In my spare time, she enjoys reading, watching movies, walking, neighborhood festivals, traveling and spending time with family and friends. I also enjoy cooking and expanding my taste palate of food. As a curious and active pupil, I constantly invests in active learning about integrative/functional medicine and health from seminars, research, conferences, workshops, webinar, colleagues and patients about all matters of body, heart, and mind.
I earned my Doctorate in Naturopathic Medicine from the esteemed National University of Health Science (NUHS) in Illinois. Prior to attending NUHS, I had a career in the non-profit sector working for an organization dedicated to families with children with special needs.
I also hold a Master of Science in Management in Marketing and International Management from Walsh College of Business and a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration with a minor in Communication from Concordia University .
